    Cage Switch.

Sniper, my male Barranquilla, Colombian boa is around 7 feet. He's been very active and I decided even though he's a foot shorter than the coastal, he needed a change.

I based this decision on his activity levels and more arboreal tendencies than the coastal which surprised me a bit.

The coastal is very content on the cage floor and I rarely catch her perched. Long and short, my 2 male animals are more active than the 2 females.

    Here is Sniper in the 6' x 30" x 2'.

New substrate is bleeding off moisture. I'm not a fan of wet glass but it tends to happen with my cypress coco husk mix.

He's been all over the place since he's changed cages.

He'll be getting a rabbit soon so that may mellow him out a bit.

    Thanks Richard.

He ate tonight. I don't feed jumbo rats to him but the carpet refused.

He took it and it didn't leave a lump. 2 pound rabbits here we come.

He's probably going to eat 3 more times this year maybe less if he takes the larger rabbits.

Gio-I love your enclosures and I’m sure your snakes appreciate them. I want to try feeding my larger snakes rabbits but haven’t been able to find a reasonably priced supplier. Where do you get your rabbits?

    LOL!

Zig, reasonable is relative for sure.

I've been using Layne Labs but damn that shipping cost is brutal so I'd say NOT the best value and I'm thinking you will pay more for shipping to GA.

They have everything I need but JM mentioned a new company he's trying. I can't remember the name but the prices seemed decent.

    JibbaJabba,

This boa is a bit over 9 years old. He's a locality BI. Barranquilla, Colombian to be specific.

I'm sure each boa has a personality, however I've noticed my male animals tend to roam and perch more than my females.

My study group isn't exactly anything herp sciences would use as a guide though. I have 4 separate species and one of the females is a Royal so there's that LOL!

I have found proper feeding and time of the season relates to the movements of the boa. The male Bredli loves his perches.
