    Remove Branches ?

I built a nice tree structure and whatnot for my ten year old rescue boa and she never uses any of it. Even if I check the night time footage of the camera she seems to rather dig under them to get around.

I know some boas tend to love climbing but would you remove the stuff to give her more terrestrial room if unused ?

If your boa has never had branches for the better part of 10 years, it's no wonder it's taking a while for her to accept & use them. She might never use them, but she might if you wait a while?
I would not expect any sudden climbing expeditions- it will take time if it's ever going to happen.

    Remove Branches ?

    Intriguing..

I’ve had a few Boas over the years and none showed any interest at all in climbing.. not the 7’ ones nor the baby ones ..

Whereas every Royal / Ball python has loved climbing in their branches.

It’s odd really as so many describe Royals as ‘bricks’ suggesting they don’t do much

I had a large BCI for many years, & even when she was 7 1/2' long, she wanted to climb the trees in my yard when I got near them (while holding her). Obviously snakes don't read the care guides we publish about them. She was also climbing on me on a regular basis- I think snakes don't all learn the same things.

A small sample size of mixed data on my end - two out of my three boas regularly climb on their branches and ledges. Out of my two ball pythons, one just likes cruising around at ground level, while the other adores his branch and spends at least 50% of his day on it, doing his best impression of a green tree python.

2018 Butter Mojave BEL - Ravus ("Rae")
2022 Albino Super Lesser - Cyrus ("Cy")

    2019 IMG Motley - Requiem ("Q")
2019 Sharp Blizzard - Elysium ("Elys")

That’s just basic snake behaviour though isn’t it ?

They always try and latch onto nearby things when you’re holding them ( apart from Royals who aren’t as inquisitive) plus I read somewhere that they always try and go UPWARDS when they’re exploring
