Something hidden inside... which gene?

So I've recently had the joys of experiencing my first clutch.

The pairing was a bell line chocolate (male) and enchi pinstripe (female).

With this being my first rodeo, I lean largely on a breeder with experience local to me.

From the clutch of 10, two have been flagged for particular interest because of their patterning so I'm posting here to ask other worldly, experienced heads as to what they may be...?

Might have picked up whatever it is from mom since enchi suppresses and cleans up the pattern a lot and pinstripe can hide it entirely sometimes. The first thing that comes to mind is trick/hurricane. I would not sell them as those without being absolutely sure after test breeding them though because sometimes normals can look like that, breed, and whatever is causing it doesn't show up in their hatchlings.

If the pattern really interests you, I would hold them back and do some test breeding. This can be a bit of a money suck starting off but if it proves out, it will be more than worth it.

It would be really exciting to have such a gene within the clutch, and would definitely be at least one held back if we can be confident with its possible hidden genetic.

You can see the enchi in one of the two, quite clearly.

My other half worries we could end overrun with BP's as I really, really enjoy them.

As well as the chocolate and enchi pinstripe, we have a pastel spotnose and blue eyed lucy (with red pupils) here with future clutches in mind

That's goes without saying, for most any kind of snakes...trust me. But there's worse things in life than being over-run with cute & beautiful serpents.

It's very easy to end up with a loaded reptile room fairly fast when you start breeding. My best advice is to make sure you balance projects so that you have some that sell well to keep "food on the table" for the projects that take time to make money or end up being a financial strain. I've said it in other threads but I'll say it here. Recessive, especially double and triple recessive projects are really tough on a new breeder because normals and normal het somethings do NOT sell well until you have a well established a reputation.

No enabling necessary, I seem pretty good at that myself!!

@nikkubus, I'm already looking around the room wondering what I should build to be able to have the vivs on display to fit any hold backs here

Am loving this first time experience with this clutch - I'm fully aware how lucky I've been with the clutch too. It was our females first clutch, she gifted us 11 fertilised eggs but sadly one failed - but the other 10 are beautiful little things. Nice and alert and fingers crossed it stays that way!
