Tip for reducing humidity

I live in upstate NY and over the past week or so the humidity(and heat) here have been insane. I have fans going in my room and while my temp readings are fine, my humidity keeps climbing toward 60%-65%. I moved recently and have never had issues with things being TOO humid, usually the opposite. Does anyone have tips for bringing it down?

That's not too high unless it's causing other issues like moldy substrate.

Right now he’s in a 20 gallon long glass terrarium with a screen lid. He’s on aspen but I mixed up some coco husk and coco fiber substrate in a bucket the other day because that usually isn’t enough to hold humidity for my guys up here in the past. Not this summer apparently. No misting or anything, just his water bowl in there. I was worried that my digital hygrometer was wrong but nope, it’s on. My room is just humid I guess. My biggest concern was a RI

I keep my babies between 50 to 60. My whole house never goes above 60%.

That’s why I’m asking for tips to reduce it? This is abnormal for me.

I would recommend buying or building a dehumidifier.

Ok and I get that but it's what's normal for the snakes. There is absolutely nothing wrong with them even going up to 70% during sheds. If you insist on reducing it maybe your whole house is the problem? What are they housed in?

I live in Mississippi and routinely have humidity at the levels you’ve mentioned without issues. I wouldn’t worry much about it unless you begin having mold problems or anything else out of the ordinary.

I agree with others that it isn't so high its a problem for BP's unless you are having mold issues. How long ago did you mix the cocobark in there and does it coincide with the humidity spike? You may have just gotten it a bit too damp for your area and need to use less water next time, or lay some out to dry a bit after breaking the block up. Sometimes when I do my full enclosure cleans and swap out everyone's substrate, the last few I did in that batch get a bit too high because I put a bit too much water and it the last bit in the bin soaks it up, and adding a bit of bone dry cocobark helps soak some up and redistribute it at a better rate.
