    Cut early?

Hello everyone! So this is my 2nd season breeding, but my first time doing the incubation myself. So yes I am a little paranoid 😆.. So it's day 40 and I noticed 1 of my eggs had alot of mold and was a total loss, but that mold stated to move on to the next egg. I removed the the bad egg already and dusted the other with some antifungal powder. Should I be concerned and look at them again around day 48-50 if mold is still growing should I cut? Or should I just be patient and leave them until day 52 before I check again? This is a big time clutch for me and I would hate to lose another egg or the whole clutch considering its wasn't a very big clutch to start with. 5 now down to 4. Pairing was Black Pastel Hypo x Pastel Sk Axanthic.

I am not certain what cutting early would get you...other than exposing an undeveloped hatchling to potentially lethal mold.

    Re: Cut early? Update

Hello everyone! I just wanted to update everyone on my clutch of eggs. I ended up losing 2 eggs out of 5, but I am super happy with the 3 that I got. The odds where in my favor for the 3.... I got 1 Pastel, 1 Black Pastel and 1 Black Pewter. All will be double het Axanthic/hypo and staying with me. As I mentioned this was my first time incubating my own eggs and want to thank everyone that told me to chill on cutting them early lol. Here are some pictures

I'm late to this thread but my first thought was exactly what Lord Sorril posted above, so I'm very glad you didn't cut early & got the 3 sweet hatchlings that you did- 'Grats!

Congrats! Glad you at least got the three and had good odds with them! Stinks when you lose a couple and the survivors are normals.

Finally out of the egg... I was wrong on the Black Pastel ID it was actually a Normal. I am still super happy with the results!
