    Great day out

I took my two oldest granddaughters Harriet 7 and nancy 5 to Bradgate Park. In Leicestershire, its about 25mins in the car from mine.
Bradgate Park was where King Henry the 8th resided and was married to lady Jane grey in 1553 for all of nine days.
Till she was beheaded by him.
The parkland is stunning and there's a ruin Of the old Hall, it must of been quite something in its hayday(picture is from the visitor centre)
There are 600 deer Red and Fallow deer that roam free, I managed to get some pics of the fallow deer

There are some serious ancient oaks along the path way
I even managed to find a bit of antler in the grass

What a beautiful day. You got in some quality family time with your beautiful granddaughters, out in nature, and took in a bit of history. It doesn’t get much better if you ask me. Enjoy every moment brother!

Thanks mate, Harriet been doing about old Kings and Queens of England so she was really excited about going to see where he used to live.
There actually some reptiles on this parkland, grass snakes, adders and even slow worms but didn't go actively looking for them, did fancy the girls getting bit by an adder in the long grass, don't think it would go down too well with my daughter and I'd never forgive my self something like that happening on my watch

Awesome day out and experience for your grand kids.
Ancient history, Ancient oaks, Royal deer park.
That's a bundle of quality experiences.
