6-7 foot is definitely doable, and as life would have it I just ordered a 5x2x2 from AP Cages this month and will order another one about mid June,

I could come up with temporary quarantine housing, until then......

Wow you guys are good and this enabling thing

From back on the "Monty" thread in January.......

So I filled out the application/ questionnaire for Theodus the Carpet Python, I mentioned that he would be in a 100 quart tub (Purchased 2 of them just to have after that advice Thanks bcr229) for at 90 days under quarantine.

I got a reply back this morning: "You final plan looks great! But you’ll need something much bigger than 100 qt for quarantine. He definitely can’t be in something that size for 90 days. Would you be able to provide something larger?"

So what's larger? the 100 quart is 3'x18"x12" approximately. An AP Enclosure is on order but we all know how that is going to go.

What can I use for quarantine that is bigger that the 100 quart? All the Exo-Terras and glass enclosures like that at the local pet shop are 3' wide also so no help there.

I did reply to their email, added the size of the 100 quart tub, and told them bigger is no issue what size would they suggest?

This is why I keep a stash of IRIS VE175 Christmas Tree tubs. WalMart usually has them during the holiday season for about $30, not sure who would stock them now at a reasonable price. Closest I could find for you is The Container Store in Richmond, but maybe you can get it shipped to one in northern VA at no cost since a lot of the larger retailers are doing free "ship to store" options now.

    https://www.containerstore.com/s/sto...uctId=11005991

You would have to find a way to secure the lid along the middle of the two long sides, a strong snake could push it up pretty easily.

    Another life saving post

Seems there's a Container store in Reston Va. There are 3 in stock, and I'll be about 8 miles from there Sunday afternoon.

I'll just order one for pick-up and grab it on my travels.

And I have a garage full of bungee cords in the garage, I can secure the middle with no issues hopefully.

Nice! Bungees stretch though. Get a set of non-stretching nylon luggage or camping straps, I think they're $8-10 at WalMart.

    Sounds like a plan...

And you might want to start a new thread for him once he's in your warm hands. (& just include a link to this) This title won't quite fit, if you know what I mean?
