    Is lichen okay on branches?

Hi, I posted about this in a Facebook group and only one person replied saying it was fine so I figured I’d ask here.
I bought 2 oak branches online (linked below) and they arrived with having lots of lichen on them, I wasn’t sure whether I was supposed to sand down the branch first, or whether this would make it more prone to getting mold on it? Is it better to sand them down? Or does anyone have any other recommendations of branches that I could use in the enclosure that won’t go moldy?

These are the branches that I use https://www.reptilecentre.com/lucky-..._p26633419.htm

I’m just very unsure as I’ve never seen anyone else’s branches have lichen on them, and I’m not sure whether it’s okay to have in my enclosure.

Shouldn't be any problem. You could remove the lichens with a wire brush if you prefer, or when/if they get 'dirty' with snake "output" but they're natural & I don't think any more prone to mold than the branch itself. Personally, I use branches from my trees all the time for my snakes, & there's lots of variation in them.
