Blood on cloaca?

I got a new BP on 7/10 and he seems to be doing great so far. He was in shed when he came home and just shed perfectly for me today. I went to pull it out and spot clean, only to notice a couple of blood droplets on his cloaca. Any idea what it could be? I contacted his breeder and am going back and forth on whether I should schedule a vet visit or wait it out. Otherwise he’s been doing fine, so I’m not sure what’s up.

Well, just called a close friend and panicked for nothing. I’ve just never ever noticed blood post-shed. I was so worried 😂😂

That's okay, better to ask, but yes, sometimes it's just that a little bit of shed gets stuck in a "sensitive area" (their cloaca) & makes it bleed a bit when they shed. If it's any MORE than just a few dots though, by all means get it looked into by a qualified herp vet. Sometimes snakes can prolapse tissue from the cloaca, & that needs immediate treatment, or they might have a urate stone that causes irritation (a little bleeding from cloaca), or other things could be wrong, so you did right to ask...bleeding should ALWAYS get your attention, just in case.
