Re: Pushing BAD!
He had calmed down for a couple of days, but I heard him a couple hours ago, and he had started back up. I pulled him out and let him crawl around for about 30 minutes. Put some more neosoporin on his mouth and snapped a quick pic.

Believe it or not that’s actually incredibly minor trauma. Everything that’s been suggested here is worth a shot, but it might not help. I tried every single thing and every possible combination of all these things with my female SD and nothing worked. At one point her face was swollen on both sides about three times as large as the swelling in your pic. Good luck.

I’m definitely an “over worrier”, but I just hate to have an animal in my care get injured.

Oh, I totally get it. I can be the same way and the stress of dealing with these shenanigans with my own retics probably shaved a few years off my life as a result. Incredible snakes, but most definitely not the species for me then or ever again.
I didn’t mean that comment to come off as slighting you in any way. Just wanting to share a bit of perspective on things from my own experiences. I hope for you and the animal’s sake that you can figure something out to curb that behavior.

I didn’t take it that way at all. One of the reasons I posted this is because I know there is a lot of experience on here, and I definitely welcome all the feedback I can get. Thanks to all.

Re: Pushing BAD!
I’m interested to know if this improved! My scrub is also a pusher and he just “came off age” this year, so breeding season was a nightmare!! I hope something helped and if it did, I want to know what it was

Round cage? Do tell- would love to know more about that, & pics if possible. That's a very creative solution.
