These are / were mine ..

When I bought them the guy said it was best to keep them together ( they were only hatchlings) but after a little while I split them up .... Bad idea they both turned psychotic until I put them back together ..

I promise yours was not typical. I've known multiples from different sources & bred them too. All of mine are natural patterns, btw, I can't speak for any of the morphs- when ppl do selective (& in-) breeding for appearance, they may also change the personality too, "fixing" some less desirable characteristics that aren't otherwise typical.

Mine was only a hatchling .. I knew they were nocturnal ( plus the eyes were a giveaway) but mine was reclusive and only ever peeped out of the cover if it was practically pitch black ..

Guess it was just a baby ...

Well yeah, if you didn't wait for it to grow up? Everything is scary to a tiny hatchling snake- they look like earthworms for birds to eat. But my adults are all relaxed & even nosy.

Anyway, I don't think that's a "smile"? I think he's downright laughing at you! Maybe for the way you're backing up?

A whole 10"? I can see it if you're talking about an adult rat snake, but no baby snake is ever that scary!
