Fight for Your Right to Keep Reptiles! FWC Meeting Thursday, Feb. 25th.
Your right to keep iguanas, tegus, reticulated pythons, Burmese pythons, and more is IN JEOPARDY in the state of Florida.
Call in to VOICE YOUR OPPOSITION on Thursday, February 25th.
Follow USARK FL for more information: https://www.usarkfl.org/
More about the proposed legislation: https://www.usarkfl.org/rulemaking-update-2
Info on how to join tomorrow's meeting and how to oppose the ban: https://www.usarkfl.org/rulemaking-update-3
Inspiring video from New England Reptile explaining what these proposed rules and regulations mean for reptile keepers: https://www.facebook.com/newenglandr...48128973047926
EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT A RESIDENT OF FLORIDA, it is extremely important that you oppose this legislation. Your state will be next if you don't stand up for your rights now.
Please consider becoming a member of USARK: https://usark.org/memberships/ They are our only defense against lawmakers and those wanting to take away our right to own reptiles.

It's absolutely tragic that passed. This is going to have some really bad waves, and I feel awful for people in FL in the industry. Some of them have spent so much money and time donating to USARK and doing outreach programs trying to prevent this.

The worst part is that it helps "open the door" for other states to do the same.

It's only going to get worse for everybody thanks to the "bat soup" lie (the virus came from a lab; be on accident or intentionally released, this was no bout of random chance from a wet market like China and the media want us all to believe).
Those in power had an uphill battle before due to the fact that, unless you lived deep in Florida where the threat of invasive species taking over was a very real issue, there were no substantial grounds to forbid the ownership of exotics. But now ALL OF THEM have the perfect silver bullet to get their way, "future pandemic prevention." Those 3 little words will be all it takes to systematically strip away our rights to own not just reptiles, but potentially almost any animal. The insane broad-sweeping New York ban proposal is a sign of what's coming for all of us.
