    BP Not shedding??

I've had my ball python since Christmas, and unless hes shed right before we got him I dont know. I keep him at proper humidity and temperature all the time, and I'm with him 24/7. He hasnt shed/started shedding but has been hiding more than usual. I don't know how old he is

    Re: BP Not shedding??

He’ll shed when he sheds. My younger snakes sometimes shed every 6-8 weeks, sometimes they’ll go 4 months. They’re not on a rigid schedule of any sort.

So you probably already know this but when he does start to go into shed his eyes will turn cloudy and blueish, and his belly may turn pink. His color will start too dull too. When he does start going into blue you need to up your humidity to allow for a proper moisture layer between the old skin and the new skin.

(Link to care sheet which includes how to up your humidity)

If the shed goes poorly give him a soak in some warm water and use a wet washrag and have him slither through it and rub off the bad shed. If he retained his eye caps or the shed on the tip of his tail take him to a vet to have them removed. (You might be able to do it yourself but personally i'm not confident in myself not to injurethe snake)

I also wouldn't feed during shed. One, because he'd probably refuse and that's a waste of a good rat, and two because it can cause the shed to rip which heightens the chance of a bad shed.
