Re: Help temperature question!!!
Im not sure how to load pics on here but the cage is like 34"x 18xdeep by 18 or 16" tall. Im sorry i had it written down somewhere. Its a diy. But i spoke with they guy af pro products and he gave me the correct heat panel. We ran it without the themostat for a few before we put the snake in and so i know it gets hot enough. Probe is on the substrate on hot side. Substrate reading 84 with temp gun and probe. 79 on cool side

Download the Tapatalk app for your phone/tablet and you can upload pics from there. Just as simple as sending a picture in a text message

If the light indicating it's heating is staying on constantly, is it possible your thermostat is not enough watts to handle your rhp?

Is your cage vented anywhere? & If so maybe too much vent? (make sure your not fully covering it snakes breathe too! ) I have a vent on top being in Canada it gets cold during winter so I keep a space heater in my room however I like the cold so I place a thin wooden slab above her tank to help hold some heat in but keep in mind to keep it 3" away from heat lamp so some heat can still escape
For perspective say this is the top of your tank
- = Tank
+ = Heat lamp
= = Slab
------------=========-----+--------
This works during winter time when I want my room colder to sleep comfortably ideally you want your reptile to have its own room with a controlled temperature if your room is 70* then the tank is gonna have a hard time staying warm especially if you use glass
As for my probe placement it's infront (away from UVB lamp or itd be a false reading just beside heat lamp & slab I keep during winter it says 89 my tank is set to 90 (warm side, she also just ate!)
