How long did you give the temps to stabilize? It takes a bit sometimes. Try bumping temps a couple degrees and keep an eye on it. In my 12” tall enclosures I have the probe hanging just behind the RHP half way down set at ~87° and it gives me a 90° floor temp. Sometimes you just have to fiddle around a little

I havent given it long. I just think its weird that the thermostat isnt getting past 85 when i set it to 91. The thermostat had no issues when being used on the boas temp enclosure to idk

Yeah it takes time. I spend a few days on average trying to get a new enclosure’s heating dialed in when setting it up. Worth the time and effort for sure

I’d put her back where she was until the new enclosure is dialed in

    Re: Help temperature question!!!

Yea well i would but i already took it apart. I had to use stuff i had for this. Aggh i feel so stupid. The guy from pro products said i can use an on off thermostat with it but idk if thats the issue. I have a pulse proportional thermostat if need be. Im just thoroughly confused as to why the heck its only getting to 85 set at 90. It heating, the indicator light is on

    Re: Help temperature question!!!

It’s because the heating element is unable to bring the thermostat probe to the set temperature due to the placement of the probe. No real prescriptive solution aside from trying different probe placements and temp settings until it’s dialed according to the needs of your room. This is exactly why it’s advised to set up enclosures multiple days in advance of the animal being introduced.

I hope you didn’t take that as me coming down on you. It’s exciting to put critters in new cages, but really frustrating when they aren’t actually ready for the critter.

What are the cage dimensions? Most specific placement of the probe? Pics would be helpful. Tapatalk app is the easiest option in that regard
