    Re: Daytime light broke

I have 2 different thermometers, a humidifer, a light, and a tree for him to climb on. I'm worried about him not getting enough heat because hes picking favorite sides and staying on the cold side. The cold side has a kore "secure" hide so he likes to stay there, even though he has slept outside his hide before and likes to come out.

Any tips on how I can keep the humidity/temp up?

Your snake is going to thermoregulate, so it knows where it needs to be, but BPs will choose security over warmth. So if you don't already, see if you can pick up a second hide that's exactly like the one you said is more secure. All three hides in my tank are exactly the same, that way my BP doesn't have to sacrifice being comfortable temperature wise, to be secure.

As far as keeping your humidity and temperatures up, take a look at that link I dropped you in my last comment. That helped me make some alterations to my glass enclosures that helped out a lot in keeping humidity and heat locked in the tank.

That's too cool for a BP- you want at least 78* on the cool end.

And Hugsplox is exactly right (post #12)- a snake will usually choose "security" (the hide he prefers) over the correct temperature, so you want to offer 2 of the same hides (of adequate size & designed to feel "safe" to him- ie. not too large & not too "open"), otherwise he's apt to be too cool to digest his prey & may regurgitate meals, & have health issues (fail to thrive).
