When you see a used aquarium for sale, ask yourself "what creature might have passed away after living in that, & what did it die from?" Better safe than exposing your pets to something.
This is something people tend not to consider when they get a used tank for cheap. I've kept tropical fish for years, and in my experience, people sell tanks for two main reasons. They're upgrading and don't want to reset the tank up, or they had a mass die off of fish and decided not to start over. Obviously there are other reasons, but unfortunately I see the second situation a lot. Regardless, this is excellent advice regardless of what you're planning to do with the tank.

Yeah, I've gone thru all the disinfection for -I think?- 2 used tanks ever, before deciding it's just not worth all the work & "paranoia"- it makes the new ones seem really cheap, unless maybe it's a huge one that's very hard to come by. Tanks have plenty of crevices where pathogens can hide.

Re: Cage cleaning FAQ, please
As the tank I just acquired isn't really any bigger than the current terrarium, I'm opting to not bother with repurposing the tank for Shauri.
My interest now is building her a custom terrarium. Gonna research a bit more and ask some questions before I start making designs.
But all of the above is great info to keep her current cage clean and her happy.
