    Question Ball python hide size??

Hey everyone!! So I got a Ball Python recently and she currently has a medium sized hide, I noticed recently when she goes into it, the whole hide moves up and down with her adjusting. So my question is what size hide should I get for her?? I'm not quite sure on her weight honestly, I would check, but I just fed her. She is about 2ft long roughly and a little over 3 months old!! Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

If the hide is moving while she is trying to get under it that's a sign it's too small, you can go one size up to a large hide if the current one is labelled a "medium". As long as the hide fits the snake snugly so that she can feel all the sides of the hide and doesn't require her to stack her coils on top of each other to fit then it's good. If you don't know what size the current hide is just measure it and look for one that is a few inches bigger on all dimensions.

    Re: Ball python hide size??

I agree with Luvyna it sounds like that one may be a tad small. I also just wanted to add that different manufacturers size their hides differently, so a medium hide from Pangea would be HUGE for a 3 month old, while the medium from whatever company produces the ones you have may be too small. So don't just buy a large in any brand, make sure you're checking the measurements to see how they compare to the ones you currently have.

It may also be worth making your own hides, that way you can customize them to fix exactly what you need.

Measure the current hide as all companies sizes are NOT the same. I found that out when I ordered a six pack of large. Also, see where the openings are.

    Good luck!

If you end up with a new hide that seems a bit too big for her and you want to help her feel cozy, you can just stuff a few crumpled-up paper towels into the new hide.
