I love your boa-tree! You did a great job keeping them in line for photos too, I'm impressed! I know how hard that was! They're all so beautiful!

Re: Happy holidays from the boa trio! [IMG Motley; Blizzard; Hypo Blood]
Black, white, and red are my top three favorite colors. To see them all represented perfectly in snake form makes it even better.

Absolutely stunning, them three are just real showstoppers.
It's so hard to keep one little one still nevermind three, they just want to explore all the time.
Congratulations

Bogertophis - Thank you so much! And yes, just getting all three boas out for the photos already took a chunk of time; Q didn't want to leave his tree hide, so it took several minutes of coaxing and tail-tickling to get him to budge. The daylight hours for picture-taking were already starting to wane at that point, so I had to speed-run the photoshoot itself!
jmcrook - We have a shared taste in favorite colors, so I am more than happy to oblige.
richardhind1972 - The age really does seem to make a difference, haha. Gen only has a year over the other two, but he was noticeably both the easiest to bring out of (and back into) his enclosure, and the most cooperative with getting guided into the bottom tier of the tree. The two younger ones, on the other hand ...

By the way, I have a similar "snake toy" that I found already well-made (of natural but sealed wood) in a thrift store a couple years ago. It's not a "tree" but a vertically oriented shape of a tall house (for lack of better description) it's about 3' tall, with smoothly-cut 2" holes thru-out & a heavy base so it doesn't tip easily. I have NO idea what it was designed for, but the moment I saw it I thought "snake-climbing toy"! And for a bargain of $2. Some of my rat snakes enjoy it (others are too big, of course).

I'm also scratching my head trying to figure out what that would have been originally, but that does sound absolutely perfect as a snake playground! Some of the best finds really do come from thrift and antique stores ...

I know, I love the "treasure hunting"... Most things cost so little, & most of our local thrifts support great local causes too (Humane Society animal shelter, our hospital, shelters for abused family members, mentally-challenged folks, etc.). And if I buy something that doesn't work out, I just donate it back. I donate all kinds of stuff already, it's like swapping with friends you never met...
As far as my "snake-climbing toy"- I can't think of any other creatures that could or would use it, nor anything it might have been made to display? I guess it shall remain a mystery- but someone put real time & skills into making it so well, & that alone is baffling. It wasn't just slapped together. The store manager/clerk had no idea what it was either, & seemed rather amused when I told him what I intended it for. That & happy to sell it to ANYONE, lol. There is someone local that makes small wood end tables & donates them, but those things at least "make sense".

Got a jig-saw? & some non-toxic paint? That's the "easy part". If I'm not mistaken, the "tree" comes apart in 2 interlocking pieces- you could make them as big as you want too.
