Unhappy Help Please. Burmese Feeding Help.

Bought a Baby Burmese at a local show about 2 and 1/2 weeks ago.

    Anyways he's housed in a 5 tier 28 quart C-Serpents rack.
Hot side 88-90 cool side 78-80.

Have ball pythons in the other 4 tubs. (They are all doing perfect)

So I'm pretty sure it's not husbandry related.

Breeder said he was taking F/T rats.
I waited a week and tried a F/T. No luck.
4-5 days later tried fresh killed. No luck. Left in overnight. No luck.
Few days ago tried a live. No luck.

Hes currently 197 grams. I'm new to burmese but from what Ive read they are
around 115 grams when born. So if thats true hes eaten before.

Anyways, everytime I attempt to feed he seems interested but afraid and I
havent had him even take a strike yet.

I looked the breeder up on MM and he has all positive reviews and
has given me a few suggestions.

But yeah, Im worried about him. It ruins my day when I think about it.

Breeder suggested putting a divider in the 28 quart tub because he had it
housed in something smaller. So I have a divider from C-Serpents in there.
The divider cuts the tub basically in half. So theres a hide on the hot side
and water bowl on cool side.

Any help or suggestions would be so great. Also after how long would I
    have to consider assist feeding?

Thank you so much in advance. My pets are my family and when
they are not okay Im not okay.

It's a bit late now but when you bring home a new snake you need to quarantine it for a minimum of 90 days. This means keeping it in a different room from your established collection and using different equipment for it.

I would try a live rat pup and leave it overnight. A rat pup is too small to hurt a snake.

Common problem with baby burms and mine did the exact same thing as a hatchlingg. Couple things you can try....go to petsmart and ask for some soiled mouse bedding in a bag and shake a f/t pup in it a few minutes before offering. But honestly, while that worked for some people it never worked for me.

I ended up getting mine to eat by just leaving a f/t overnight and he eventually found it. You may have to try this 20+ times before he takes

Don’t worry too much, he will eventually eat and when they start, they will POUND anything you put in front of them

You can always try warming the thawed rat with a hairdryer and dangling it in front of his face INSTANTLY whilst it’s still warm .
