Feeding juvenile bp after regurge

hi everyone so i recently got a baby ball python about 3 weeks ago. it’s about 19 inches and it’s pretty skinny. the store was feeding fuzzy mice so that’s that i got to start. our first feed it took its food no problem, so i decided to see if he was still hungry for another and it took again no problem. come next feed i did the same thing and it took both fuzzy mice again. except 2 days later it regurgitated only one. it’s now been 6 days since it regurgitated and i’ve seen that some people say to wait 2 weeks while others say 7 days. last two days it’s been roaming it’s terrarium at night and i think it’s looking for food. should i wait another 7 days before i feed again or is one week sufficient for the gut flora to replenish? it’s a bit skinny so i don’t want to have to skip more feedings than necessary. thanks!

First, you have to ask why he/she regurgitated. Are you feeding too frequently, too large of meals, or is your husbandry off?

What are your temps?

What type and size of enclosure?

Secondly, you should need feed again for 3 weeks from the regurgitation. It's not just the stomach acid and healthy bacteria etc that has to recover. When a snake vomits, just like us, it can burn his/her throat with acid and even scar the throat. These scars need to heal as well.

In the meantime, get your husbandry correct and feed one appropriate sized meal, not two feeders.

You should be feeding one small mouse at this point.

100% agree with what dakski said. Snakes don't regurgitate for fun, there's a usually a husbandry reason. Once you find and fix that issue it shouldn't happen anymore.
