I have gotten some sort of pvc or similar plastic cage for free with a boa; the previous owner doesn't remember anything about this cage except for it came from an expo and the cage itself has not got any marks. I don't really know the material except it's some kind of plastic that's EXTREMELY thin - I would say it's comparable to your average bins (if not slightly thinner) but far less sturdy. If you remotely put any pressure on it during cleaning the whole panel flexes. It's basically a 48 x '1 x '2, its got weird h/w dimensions but they're both within a few inches of that.
I've never used plastic enclosures before and I heard they heat the best with a RHP; however, I want to build him a new enclosure within the next 1-2 years, RHP's are pretty pricey and I wouldn't be able to use the RHP in the larger upgrade (and this enclosure is likely being binned). Considering it's so thin, do you think that a UTH or heat tape would work effectively? Do you have any recommendations for sizing of either heat source?
