Read up on the species and don't worry about it. Ours just went 8 months without eating and we've gone 7 months and 6 months in prior years.

"Royal pythons Not Eating" posts are probably the most frequently posted topics on this board. You can look at archived posts and find 100 similar questions.

Unless your animal is very young or exhibiting some health issues, not eating is normal.

You didn't mention the age of your snake, or anything else that would indicate if you truly need help.

You are on their schedule, they are not on yours.

Again if there are no health issues you need to bring that up.

Follow up with pertinent information on the animal being discussed.

Age, enclosure size and type, temps, humidity, enclosure furnishings, hides, foot traffic near the enclosure, duration the animal has been kept, what it was eating previously, when it last ate, how was the prey prepared, how was it offered, when was it offered, is the animal in shed...

Help us help you. But start by doing some searching.

This is a better follow up than what I posted! And yes, I was conservative with the number of times this question is asked here.

Honestly, this is probably the first topic that comes up prior to purchasing a royal and it is a very well known quirk of the species.

Go through the check list that JM posted and come back with some more information.

Chances are you have nothing to worry about.

ok its just odd because shes clearly hungry and has been just staring at the mouse

just realized shes had a lot of signs of shedding, could that be a potential reason why? if so, should I start putting the humidity a little higher up so she can begin the shedding process

YES that could be a reason, and you should really look into some book research on the species and/or reptiles in general.

If you are new to this, you should read the care sheet here on the board.

If there is a shed coming, I'd skip any further attempts at feeding and let the animal complete its cycle.

Without knowing the husbandry stats you run, it is hard to say whether or not you need to bump up the humidity. I typically do with every snake I keep sans the Bredli python.

This .. our huge Male Pied Royal recently came out of a 15 MONTH fast !!

He’s perfectly healthy and eats every time now although he won’t touch mice /rats now ( has three chicks )
