Hey everyone. A friend of mine who's had a hoggy and a redtail( not sure if true red or not) for many years was good that they were both females and had them co hab together for a few years. As you would guess, one turned out to be male and in June he found crossed babies in the enclosure, about 12 that lived. He found homes for all but 5 that I have now. He didn't want to sell or rehome them until they would eat properly and he didn't have a good food source nearby so he let me rescue them as I have the means. Sorry for the late intro, but how do the Gene's work in this situation. Most people would like to keep hoggys pure but were past that point now. I'm just curious if the Gene's act co dom and if theres a chance to breed them back to get a pure hog island and if so , would it be het for red tail or not? Same thing vice versa with the reds. Or are they forever going to be nothing but a red hoggy? I'm going to rehome these to forever homes once I establish them, but I may keep 1 for myself. Any comments would be welcome
