So I bought a 20 G Long tank and miscalculated how covid would affect the shipping times because it was early days. So I started to deconstruct the tank, taking off the rims and the front of the tank. I cut a 4 inch dirt dam (for the bottom front) and the 2 doors. The problem is while I was waiting for the rest of the materials, the dirt dam broke and is no longer salvageable. I'm not quite sure about the engineering, but here are the options I have to replace the dirt dam piece:

- Use the leftover 1/8" glass I have from another built to fill in the dirt dam.
- Double the 1/8" glass to make up for the fact it was a 1/4" glass.
- Buy another tank of the same kind and descontruct that for the tank.

Getting 1/4" glass of the same size is super expensive and exceeds the cost of getting a new tank.

The tank is for some leopard geckos, basically. I'm planning on having a sliding lid for it which is part of the reason it took so long.

So which of the three options is the best in your estimation and more importantly why from an engineering PoV.
