He escaped the viv overnight.

Basically I woke up an saw a vent had been nudged off the viv and s*** myself. I did find him. He was on the floor behind some plastic drawers, he would’ve fell about two an a half feet to the floor, it looked as though he’d got himself comfy and went to sleep there.

Could anything of happened to him health wise, given that he’d fell over two feet and was quite cold by the time I found him?

I’ve no clue how long he was out for, he was still inside the viv when I went to bed at around 3:30am and had obviously escaped before I woke up at 10am.

No way to know if there is an internal injury from the fall but these animals are very resilient. As far as the time out, that is a very short time and should have no effect. Remember that snakes are experts at finding and exploiting holes whether for cover or escape. Never underestimate their ability. Glad you found him so quickly.

I’d assume it’s just something to keep a close eye on him for over the next week.

Fell? More like a slow drop. Head starts down while the rest of the body holds till it's just an inch of tail left holding the snake. That's only if the snake didn't find a better way.

Now, the vent, is a clip holding it or spring? Hot glue or small screws are your friend.

I’ve used it for years and years .. no issues at all .. everything stays put UNTIL you want to remove it .

So it can be used for fake plants as well with no issues? Could it hold the weight of a snake (BP) on a fake plant that’s stuck on with hot glue? Using the suction cups is quite annoying.

I hot glue fake foliage etc all the time

As for branches I kinda slightly jam them into position then hot glue in place .

Most hot glue is kid an pet safe. The cheap stuff on E-Bay from China, I wouldn’t try it.
