    My new jungle jaguar acquisition

She’s being called Turtle for now because of the marking on her head, (a yearling). She is settling in super well and I’m looking forward to caring for her as she grows. Turtle was really well cared for an loved before she came to me, and I plan to continue to do the best for her.
She has a few of the Jaguar neurological traits, but they seem really really slight for now. Welcome any tips/wisdom.

Re: My new jungle jaguar acquisition

Congrats and Turtle looks great. Glad it's a good situation re-homing.

Regarding the neurological issues, I think they can get worse with age, but I think it's good that Turtle is showing only mild symptoms.

Any questions, just ask. There are quite a few Morelia keepers on here now, me included.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Great looking critter! I’ve gotten in to Morelia over the last year and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made as a keeper, albeit probably 15yrs overdue. I think you’re really going to enjoy it.

I don’t have any jags but I seem to understand that stress and feeding can be triggers for their neurological issues. Obviously can vary between individuals too.

Happy to have you on board. The Morelia Mafia mobs deep here nowadays.

Congrats on a beautiful new animal!!!

I also got into Morelia about a year ago. Honest to goodness, I'm kicking myself for not diving in years ago.

I can't offer any jag specific experience or advice, but I'm happy to help out where I can if you have questions.

Feel free to post here any time you'd like, it's a thread for all things Morelia:

Happy to have another JCP join the party!!!

I love the Morelia species, especially the carpet group.

You will be very happy with your new addition.
