    BP eating rat sideways??

My adult bp is struggling to eat a small rat (the size he's been eating regularly without issue for over a year now). Right now he's bitten the rat from its side and is quite literally folding the rat in half while swallowing it, making the rat much larger. He seems very determined to get it down this way but it looks way too large to swallow it while folded in half like that? Is he going to be okay swallowing the rat like this? I'm not sure how to help him

Should be fine. He should figure it out.

Also if you have been feeding small rats for a year it shouldn’t be too large for him and that helps.

I wouldn’t worry, I think this is a more common occurrence in feeding snakes then most realize. I have never heard a story of something bad happening. It is quite remarkable how determined they can be during these instances. And how wide they can open, but most will try and “restart” if to difficult a swallow. ✌️

We love our scalebabies but they're not very smart. Either it'll figure the issue out or have a rather lumpy meal but everything should be okay.

He'll figure it out; he'll be fine regardless of direction swallowed.
