Question HELP! Please identify snake for care (my first rescue)

Hi I’ve just made my first rescue and I don’t have a clue as to what kind of snake this is. I was told it might be from South America. It is about a year old as far as anyone knows. It is 19inches long and about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch at its widest point. It is a beautiful little snake my picture doesn’t do justice but my good cam has dead batts. I brought it home Friday night she was found in cage with no water, dirt for a substrate and snails in with her. I tossed that cage put her in the tank I normally use to feed ginger (my ball) and last night she hammered down 2 thawed pinkies.) She appears to be ok. I would like to know what kind of snake she is so I can make sure her temps and care will be right.

Long story short. The snake was found in the room of women who ran out on the people she was renting from. The police are looking for her for numerous crimes including identity theft. She’s not coming back and she’s not getting the snake back if some how she dose. the image is a clickable thumb

Good job on the rescue! It's always good to see somebody with snake-handling experience taking in an orphaned pet!

Good that you took the poor thing in! Just remember to do strict quarantine from your other snake(s) and with her horrible background maybe a vet check and fecals would be a good idea.

Hope she does well for you. BRB's are such lovely looking snakes (though I've only seen pictures so far).

I think that it is a Columbian Rainbow Boa, not a Brazilian. They are less expensive and not as pretty, but a good snake and need the same care as a BRB. I'm not 100% sure, but pretty darn sure... . I wish you had a clearer pic.

Try matching them up with the adds on kingsnake. It's definitly one or the other. They are pretty much the same snake, but different colors. The BRB is more intense looking than the Columbians.

the lines on the head and the pattern are very pronouced like BRBs....columbians have a much 'blander' look to them...it is a BRB

the lines are definately well defined and crisp. i got new batts will be geting a better pic soon i dont want to bother her (all snakes aRE a her till proven otherwise ) too much. she is very dosle but active flicks toung alot and is alert. i have her on cypress mulch now like my ball. gave her one of gingers old hides (after viral saning it) some plants to hide and explore in under and have reset the spare thermisat. i keep all my babys in seprate cages. i checked her very carefully for mites and such and left over sheds didnt find any stuck eycaps or anthing her original cage was very moist (no temp or humidy gages) but it was damp. and most importantly made sure she was liveing longer than a month no ird for me thanks shes siting in her new hide (she had this big half log thing originaly. and her head is poking out of the hole. . im going to be geting her a better perminate cage form animal pastics soon.
