I'd probably go for something like quail over hamsters personally if your goal is switching it up for variety.

    2.0 Python brongersmai
    1.1 Python breitensteini
    1.0 Python curtus
    1.0.1 Python regius
    1.0 Acrantophis dumerili
    1.0 Boa constrictor
    0.1 Heterodon nasiscus nasiscus
    0.0.1 Pantherophis guttatus

I will also add that if you are planning on breeding hamsters for them that even that is a mess because hamsters are more solitary by nature and have a high chance to cannibalize if the male is left with the babies. They will still sometimes cannibalize in the case of more than one female as well.

One more caution about hamsters- I've raised a countless number of hamsters in the past that I sold as pets, & unlike rats or mice, whose babies will not defend themselves as long as their eyes are still closed, baby hamsters will growl & bite. They have real teeth that can hurt a snake, even when their eyes are still closed. Never feed them live to a snake.
