Is she fat or just destined to be a big girl?

Hello all! I am really worried about overfeeding my baby coz of effects on lifespan.
I have had her since January when she came to me at only 68g and was a hatchling. Now it's late July and she is 600g~

I'm just a bit worried as looking at other snakes progression and weights it looks like she is way bigger than she should be, I've been seeing people posting that their snake is a similar weight at one year! Possibly just her being on the larger side naturally?

I've moved her feeding to every 10-14 days from 7
and she takes small rats. (She moved onto these when she hit 500g.)

The following pictures were taken roughly 72 hours after eating, I know that where the body hits the tail can be a good indicator of obesity and I don't see an issue there. It'd be nice to have someone chime in and reassure me or let me know she's looking a bit too big. I've had a look at some charts but I trust the advice on here more than my judgement

That tail pinching is a bit concerning for her overall size. I mean I have a shorter ball python that is just heavy-bodied, but she doesn't have that girth. Looks like she needs a diet.

Cool, thanks so much for your advice. I'm gonna make sure it's definitely 14 days between feeds now. Or is it worth just withholding food completely for a few weeks?

I would think it would be better to scale back a little as you suggested. We had a bp that was a little chunky when we got her. It was being fed twice a week we scaled her back and she gradually lost little by little over time. Just scale back and watch your snake. I wouldn’t stop offering a bp food all together. 14 would be the max I would wait at that age.

She doesn't look overweight to me. Just looks like a big girl. I don't see any issue at all by the tail either.

Is it safe to assume she hasn't pooped yet after that meal? That would make her look larger than her natural "empty" weight too.

Right you are, she hasn't pooped since then.

Ok, so she's still holding on to that meal. And it's likely resting in the back half of her. I honestly wouldn't sweat it. If she keeps gaining and you can't see that triangular shape anymore then I'd get her on a diet.

Yeah, she left a present this morning and she's looking a little less hefty. Thanks for the advice. I'll stick to the 10-14 days.

She still is maybe looking borderline to me but not gonna change the schedule. Is just mad to me that she was a hatchling in Jan and now she's 650~g
