    Popping young ball pythons

    Hello everyone,

I am wanting to confirm the sex of my new ball python, however I don’t have much experience with snakes. So I’m wondering is popping a hound ball python hard or dangerous for the snake? Is this something I can realistically and safely do or should I take it to an expert to be done?

I personally think you should probably take him to a professional because popping a snake can be difficult especially if you are new to ball pythons. Also if you do it wrong you could hurt your snake.

Please don't pop or probe a snake if you don't know how.

Just an FYI, buying from a reputable breeder, you'll know the gender of your animal before buying.

Thanks for the advice. I won't be attempting it since I don't have any experience. Just wanted to know if it was safe to do. When I bought him I was told he was a male but I just wanted to confirm. Will probably take him to a professional to find out at some point.

    Thanks.
