From ball pythons to my first boa

Hey guys. I love my ball pythons. However I just acquired my first boa. I have to say he is pretty awesome! Totally different snake that is quick to make decisions and very active. Not to mention the feed response😳.

My question is about there metabolism. He has no fear and excepts me well after just two days. He is very active. But got chill after I fed him. Which is to be expected. He is doing great. Digesting in is warm side. Which is powered by a heat Matt and thermostat. I’ve heard that boas made need more time to digest there food. I always give my balls 48 hrs. Is it the same with boas? He’s adapted so quick. He just seems so reactive. It’s hard for me to think he needs more time.

    All opinions on are welcome

How big is he and how large a feeder? I usually give my babies and juvies 2-3 days but bear in mind they eat every two weeks. Adults I give 5-7 days because they eat every 3-4 weeks so they get a decent sized feeder.

Congrats on the new boa. They're really cool snakes to keep. I don't handle ANY of my snakes for at least 48 hours after they've eaten.

He is only 6 weeks old. I’m feeding him a small mouse. We only got one feeding in. It didn’t lump his belly up much.

    3 days sounds good.
