    Thanks for the advice. I might try keeping the branches in an environment similar to his cage for a while just to see how they will fair.

    Eucalyptus trees? What Country Australia or Tasmania? If Aus find some old Iron Wood, it should be safe if dry. I would bake the wood in the oven at 94 Celsius (little over 200 Fahrenheit) for 1.5-2 hours. That will (should) kill anything living in it.

    Anyway, whatever Country your in, look at Craigslist or swap meets. You'll find some different neat woods. See if any private or hobby mills or an arborist are near you. Mills have left overs an Arborist can find you something if you ask.

    Eucalyptus trees are also grown in the U.S. (places like California, & I'm pretty sure in Florida too) as non-native ornamentals too, y'know...

    But that's a good idea about contacting an arborist (or in my area, a tree-trimming business!), etc.
