    Just checking

    Hello all!
I have had a beautiful python for a 5 months now and things are going swimmingly. We've had 2 sheds that weren't great but I've been learning from her, she's switched from live to frozen mice, and she is comfortable around me. Now I am just monitoring her and I've noticed she is being very active hanging out above the ground at night. I know she is nocturnal but I can't recall her being so active. She last ate 1 week ago and I didn't know if it might be her hungry? She's also been hanging on the cool side more that's about 77 degrees or so while the warm has a ground temp of 89 so I'm hoping temp wise is alright. Thoughts on her hanging behavior? She's also been trying to get out of her cage by pressing against the roof. I hope it's normal but I just want to check. Thank you!!!

Sounds normal to me, though you might double check her weight versus the size & frequency you're feeding her, as hunger might be an influence on her activity...but not
always. Does she have at least 2 proper hides, one on cool side & one on warm side?

Yes she has two hides both on opposite sides. She is just about 200 grams I believe if memory serves. She gets one adult mouse a week and it is just about 1 week ago today. She is currently chowing down nicely so she's a happy camper.

Sounds like you’re doing a great job. It could be that she’s just started to come out at a different time than usual? But doesn’t sound like anything strange.

Trying to escape is normal. Just make sure it isn’t excessive because otherwise it could be a sign of stress.
