    Should I expect eggs?

    Hi,

I bought this female in March and was told she had been locked last November but wasnt showing any signs of being gravid so the breeder sold her to me. (His other snakes were all gravid). Now I'm wondering has she become gravid since I got her?

I have never bred snakes before and was planning to breed her next year after I had done more research and we got everything set up and ready but if she is I would like to do all I can to help the eggs hatch.

The breeder checked her for follicles before selling her and said theres definitely nothing there cause she was only locked once. I took her out a few days ago and she started hissing quietly when I touched the back part of her and she has never hissed before and when I was putting her back she seemed harder at the back end. She hasnt taken a meal since we got her and the last 3 days seems to favour the hot side where as before it was more the cool end. Havent noticed any bowl wrapping or lying inverted or anything like that so I'm not 100% sure.

Any one able to give me any help or advice? Would be appreciated. Have stuff ordered to put together an incubator just incase and will be setting it up this week.

    Thanks.

    Re: Should I expect eggs?

Yes, that is an Ovulation. Sometimes it only takes one lock to do the job.

When she sheds you should expect to have eggs about 30 days later
