Snake rack heat tape?
Hello and thank you for letting me join the form. We just got done with building are snake rack and we were wondering what size heat tape and what wattage of heat tape we should use? The quarts are 66 quart and 32 quarts the rack is made out of melanite. Thank you in advance.

a 3 to 4 inch strip running across the back is usually the standard and more than enough when it comes to a hot spot.

That would work for the 32's but the 66 quart under-bed tubs have a good amount of floor space, and a thin strip like that may not be enough if it just cuts across the short side of the tub. If it runs longways it would work.
I use 11" heat tape in my 54-qt tub rack, the pieces are cut 12" long, which makes a nice squared-up hot spot for the snake to coil on while under a hide. It works well for juvenile boas.
