    Eye Cap or not?

    Hi Guys

so I need some help. Not sure if this is a retained eye cap or not.I did soak a few times ,handled with a damp towel, used wet earbud to try and wipe it off. So now I starting to wonder of its really an eye cap? Don’t want to mess too much with her without being sure its actually a retained eye cap.

    Hope you guys can help.

Looks like it is to me, could also be from a poor shed. Don't force it off, it doesn't look totally ready to come off, just raise her humidity a bit and let her be!

    Low humidity

Just raise humidity overall and it shouldn't happen again.

Dehydration! Raise the humidity & don't try to force off any eye-caps. It can take a long time for sunken eye-caps to regain their proper convex form, & once damaged
this way, some never do. Stick with it.

IF there are any stuck eye-caps layered on (& I cannot be sure there is) it's safer to let an experienced herp vet take a look at it- it's a very delicate procedure to remove
them IF needed, & many owners have accidentally done far worse permanent damage to their snake's eyes when trying to fix this on their own. But first, raise humidity
    & be patient.

Looks like it. Try wiping gently with damp paper towl. If it doesn't come off just try again later.

    Eye Cap or not?

As above post or even let it slither around inside a very , very damp rough textured towel for as long as you can - you can feel it’s head so apply very , very gentle pressure in that area and any eye caps will generally just come off safely.
If it fails try again the next day .

Oh and when the head pops out of the towel just recover it with the excess towel ..

This method works great for stubborn skin as well - it actually works best AFTER a short soak but it’s not always required .
