    No poop?

Hello all! I have had my sweet lil male BP for 4 weeks now. I haven't been able to locate any poop. This is concerning to me. He has eaten 3 times.

What size prey are you feeding? They prey is likely too small and is being used up entirely for growth and there's nothing left to poop out.

    Re: No poop?

    Hi,

They can go for quite a while between poops ( especially on small meals ).

I always look toward their back end before handling to see if it seems swollen near the vent ( I call it "sausage butt" ).

But the quickest way I know to get poop is to sit them on something expensive or clean their cage.

It can take 2 weeks like it can take 8, it depends on several thing.

    Food intake, growth, metabolism.

Unless there is a persistent bulge near the cloaca you animal will be fine.

My Borneo STP is good for two, maybe three poops a year. But that's pretty common with short tails.

Get yourself a short tail python. No more than 4 poops a year

4 explosions a year, you mean...? I'll pass, & besides, I have more than enough snakes! (19) And this year, I'm NOT INCUBATING ANY 'infertile' eggs, no matter how
    good they look!

    Re: No poop?

Thanks guys! He is about 10 months old and 18 or so inches long. I just moved him from rat pups to extra small rats this week. Hopefully he will show me some poop soon. 😂💩 Not sure when he had his last shed or how often they shed. I've had him for 4 weeks now.

They shed when they out-grow their old skin, & that depends on available food & enough warmth for digestion. Young snakes that are well-fed (as in captivity with good care) shed more frequently than older snakes, & they continue to shed their whole lives but it slows way down when they're really old. For example, one snake I had that was very old was only shedding once every year & a half.
