    Question on heat and digestion

Just a quick question. I have two identical hides. One on cool end and one on warm end. Cool side is around 79 degrees and warm side around 89 inside each hide. Confused on why my boa always digest his food inside his cool side? Isn't it too cold for him to digest? Is 89 too hot?

Re: Question on heat and digestion

Your boa will sit where its most comfortable, mine nearly always use the cool side rather than warmside, out of interest what are measuring your temps with?
the dial ones are not that accurate and often get stuck, best to use a digital one, hopefully that's what you have, much more accurate

Snakes make a tiny bit of heat when they digest, especially at the beginning. So a lot of times they'll avoid the heat until later on in their digestion, or simply may be happening to not use it while you're watching.
