Sperm Plugs
Well after doing a bit of googling and search on this forum I'm not getting as much information as I'd like LOL so here goes folks....
Do the males just start suddenly producing sperm plugs at a certain age or size or is it triggered by an environmental stimuli? How does one know that their male is producing (some sort of exam I would assume)? I think I've read about someone finding a sperm plug in the substrate, is this possible? Why would that happen? Does a male have to show signs of producing sperm plugs prior to be put in with a female to breed? What in heck does a sperm plug actually look like?

Re: Sperm Plugs
That's what they look like. Many times you'll find them adhered to a shed, occasionally you may find them within the enclosure, alone. Sperm production is triggered by whatever stimuli the snake finds necessary, whether age, presence of a female, cooling, etc. I've seen it in male snakes due to each of the above factors, as well as various combos of said factors. Change is key!!!

Re: Sperm Plugs
Well if you open a thread clearly marked Sperm Plugs, one might expect to see a pic of...gee...sperm plugs LOL. Sorry you found it gross, I find this stuff fascinating!
Thanks for that clear pic Kara and the info!
Adam, you got a wierd male there LOL. I just hope when he's done breeding he doesn't coil up and think "well that was fine and all but she's no water bowl!"
