Small bump? Please help
I noticed this small bump in my four month old piebald ball python, he’s a very healthy boy and doesn’t act odd. Any ideas? Is it normal for him?

Not what I'd call "normal"...it wasn't there before, right? Most likely it's just a small abscess under the skin- that's the response by the snake's body to wall off a minor
infection...I'd "wait & watch"...if you see it increase in size or turn red or ooze or bleed (all signs of increasing infection), make an appt'mt with your vet. Otherwise, it's
not likely to be anything more than the small cut or scrape infection that we all have now & then. It's not open att, so there's no need to put medication on it either.

Are there any wood hides or branches in there with him? Might even be a splinter. Don't panic

Well, fyi, there's always snake teeth! They do fall out now & then when snakes strike their food. Unlike humans, they get automatic replacements, but the loose teeth turn
into "perfect" splinters...ask anyone who's had some embedded from a snake bite.
