    RIP Kayla

I found Kayla, one of my leopard geckos, dead today.

I've had her for 7 years and she wasn't too much older (about 7 1/2).

I am not sure what happened, but she seemed peaceful and no sign of a struggle or anything unusual. She shed a week ago and hadn't eaten this week, but that happens when she sheds sometimes as she eats her shed. Also, with the weather changing so much, they (my LG's) will sometimes miss a meal or two.

She was the in between LG (I had three). Cleo was the outgoing one. Carra was the ravenous eater, but difficult to handle sometimes. Kayla, well, she was right in between. I will miss her.

For the record, they all live(d) in separate enclosures.

Happy to know I gave her 7 good years, but it doesn't seem like enough. I don't think there is anything else I could have done, but it's normal to question that.

I want to do a necropsy, but I am not sure when she passed as I had been sick in bed for two days. I couldn't bring her in until tomorrow anyway.

I'll ask the vet, but either way, I miss my little girl.

    RIP Kayla.

    Re: RIP Kayla

Thank you everyone. I will advise IF I am able to get a necropsy.

It means a lot to have the support of the community.

I spent some quality time with Behira and Jeff tonight and got some Boa therapy. That helped too.

Katie has also been super supportive as has my family. They know what the reptiles mean to me.

It was really crappy finding her today, but I appreciate that she saved me the angst of having her be sick for a long period and/or having to put her down. I've been down that road too. Not that she had a choice, but it's appreciated either way.

She was a good girl and she will be missed.

Thank you again for the thoughts for all involved.
