    Strange bug in water dish

So a few days ago I noticed a strange bug floating in my BP water dish. They multiplied really quickly. At first I was thinking it might be mites. So I took a sample of the bugs and looked at them under a microscope and they most definitely are not mites. To be on the safe side, I cleared the cage and and scrubbed it with bleach. I placed my snake in an empty tank with paper towels lining the bottom to see if I could notice any mites. It’s been a few days and I haven’t noticed anything. I inspected my BP and couldn’t find anything on his head or body. No raised scales and no swelling. Has anyone else experienced a water bug in their snake’s water dish?

Were they springtails? Springtails like water and snake poo, but if you didn't put them there...

Are they near the surface then ‘dive’ down if disturbed ?

Need a LOT more to go on for a description than just "strange"...

    A picture would definitely help.

Not springtails. They’re a lot smaller than springtails

Not that I could tell. They mostly would just stick to the walls above and below the waterline
