It's somebody's birthday! If I'm reading his breeder's page correctly, Kuzco turned one today. Hopefully there'll be many more birthdays in the future!

Got some nice pictures of Kuzco today. He's been very perky lately and is spending a lot of time perched out in the open -- apparently the narrow, telescoping sections of his cheap climbing bars are now to his liking. It's been nice seeing my previously reclusive baby out and about.

A certain podcast is having a calendar contest with a "boa" category, so of course it was photoshoot time!

Kuzco looks like he's gone through a growth spurt recently. He's definitely bulked up and gained a bit of muscle. He spends a lot of time perched and is a much more balanced and adept climber than he was a few months ago. I'll definitely be giving him a tall adult enclosure when the time comes -- I'm thinking 6'x2'x4' at least!

Somebody shed! Little man's growing like a weed... he may finally be ready to jump up to small mice from hoppers full time.

His development's become rather interesting as of late. His base tone is somehow brightening while becoming more melanistic at the same time. From what I understand, longicauda hypermel is polygenic, so it may be the case that he inherited at least a few of the hypermel genes from his mother. Time will tell!
