Scale Rot???

hey all

I've my girl for a little over a month and everything has been fine until the past couple days when I noticed this strange coloration on her scales. She shed a couple weeks ago and it went fine. The humidity rests at 60% and the temp is 90 F, give or take a bit. Is this something I should be worried about? Her behavior and eating is normal. I have rarely seen snakes with so much 'scale rot' on the sides unless there is some on the belly as well. It is only a guess from the photo, but, it looks more like fecal matter. Have you tried taking a paper towel and some water and tried gently scrubbing it off?

Also, hopefully 90F is your hot spot temp from an under-tank-heater and not your ambient. 90F is too hot-air temp should be closer to 80F in the entire enclosure.

I agree, it really looks like "dirt" stuck between the scales, especially because it's in a line as if the snake rubbed along something. It's not as if snakes can't get dirty,
but on very light-colored ones it shows up much better.
