Snake rack heating
I purchased a used snake rack from a local breeder here in Utah the rack works he said it was okay to plug it straight into the wall this morning woke up and two of my bins had been melted on the back trying to figure out best thing to do to fix the situation and I noticed that the bottom drawer doesn't heat up as best as the top

Are you using a thermostat to regulate what I assume is heat tape?

First, unplug the heating if you haven't already. Second, I would remove all the bins to take a look at the heating. I am assuming you are using heat tape without a thermostat as well. You need a thermostat to operate the heat tape safely. But look to see if the heat tape is joined together or what else might cause the bottom to not heat as well as the top. Look just for any irregularities that could cause an issue down there. Pictures always help too!

Re: Snake rack heating
I've found that the temperature stays more consistent if the probe is under the middle slot. For example, if you have a 5 layer rack system put them probe on the heat tape second from the bottom.
Btw. Love the username

Re: Snake rack heating
Holy cow!! thank goodness you hadn't put any snakes in there yet!! I find it a bit disturbing that a BREEDER told you you don't need a thermostat for heat tape.... The jumpstart ones work (about $30 from amazon) but I would go with a more high end one if you can, like a herpstat.
