Re: Emp. Scorpion
Yes, you can handle them. IF they sting, it will hurt like a nasty bee sting, but no one has been recorded dying from an emperor scorpion. They have very weak venom. However, it is possible to be allergic to the venom, as many people are allergic to bee venom.
Flat rocks are not a great scorp to handle as they just LOVE to pinch, and they are very strong! Extremely mild venom though.
Here's my emp.
The ground coconut bark stuff is fine (like bed-a-beast or eco earth) these guys like to dig.

If I'm allergic to bug bites, does that mean I will also be to scorpions and spiders?

Not necessarily. They are different types of venom.

Did you sell these to pet stores or at expos? If so, would you mind giving a rough idea of how much? I'm just curious - not a big fan of insects (don't even know if Scorps are insects)

Re: Emp. Scorpion
Scorps are arachnids.
I sold the babies to friends/co-workers. I have three left. I sold them for $8 each or two for $12. Emps are cheap.
