Suddenly peeing and roaming every night
Hey guys, my BP has been exhibiting this new behavior since Jan 9. She'll roam all night, rest for a few hours during the day, then start up again like clockwork in the early evening. At first I thought she was just hungry (she has hunger roamed before and happily calmed down once filled up), but less than 24 hours after her last weekly feed of a medium rat, she was up and moving again.
And I don't know if it's related, but she's been peeing every night too. Defacation is normal, it's just constant pee and urates. I know some snakes are like this, but is it common for such behavior to develop out of the blue? She was doing perfectly fine before, and nothing in her husbandry has changed lately (60 humidity, 88-90 hotspot, 78-80 cool side). I even re-calibrated all her temperature guages and my temp gun to be sure. All set and checked.
If it helps, she's getting bigger and outgrowing her hides. Could that be making her uncomfortable? During the day she uses them fine. I'm also in the process of saving up for a bigger tank, as she's getting too long for her 20 gal. Would any of that help? Too small an enclosure is all I could think of that's stressing her out.

Sounds like she is looking for a way out. If you have a female ball python large enough to take medium rats living in a 20 gallon tank---I don't blame her.
The frequent urate excretion could be a result of internal compression of the digestive tract as she presses her body against the walls of the tank.
