    Spotticus

My 9-month-old KSB has been doing really well, eating regularly and gaining weight. He finally had a whole-skin shed for the first time this week, after I anointed him with ReptiShed. I'd been concerned about it because he always had some stuck shed before. He eats one large fuzzy every week and is usually extra hungry after a shed. This past week, though, I checked up on him and his meal, and it didn't seem like he had taken it (in the dark, he and his food are practically the same color) so I reached in to pull out the mouse to re-heat it a little, and imagine my surprise when the mouse came up attached to a very surprised KSB. I looked at him, and he glared at me, and I put him back down and covered his container again, kicking myself because I was sure I'd messed up and he wasn't going to eat this week. To my surprise and relief, he ate as usual in spite of his unscheduled in-meal flight. I am so glad I decided to start out on a sand boa because he is the chillest snake ever.

That's really funny! Glad it all turned out OK. Snakes all have their own personality, & what must they think of us? LOL
